Professor Paul Brietzke received his JD from University of Wisconsin Law School and was admitted to practice by State Bar of Wisconsin in 1969. He received his PhD. in Law from University of London in 1979. He is a tenured professor at Valparaiso University School of Law where he teaches courses in Law and Economics, International Human Rights, Antitrust, Contracts and Globalization. He was Fulbright professor in Vietnam in 1998 and served as Chief Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Justice, Jakarta, Indonesia from January 1999 to August 2000 where he helped to draft and implement anti-corruption, administrative, arbitration, bankruptcy, competition policy (antitrust, including the establishment of the Commission,) corporations and corporate governance, judicial, letter of credit/warehouse receipt, rural land tenure, secured transactions, small business, WTO compliance, etc. legal reforms. Professor Brietzke also ran a small ($800,000/year), AID-funded Economic Law and Improved Procurement Systems Project.
